Recently you have received plenty of communications about the merger of TD Ameritrade accounts into Charles Schwab accounts. This massive project took place over this past weekend. We have taken a sample of a number of client's portfolios and are happy to see all these accounts were moved accurately over into the new Schwab accounts. We can see the new account numbers and the holdings.
As a further test, Steve logged into the Schwab portal used by clients to see their accounts. He looked to view his, and then his wife’s, portfolios. The look and feel were different, but all the information was there. Steve then took the time to personalize the information, things like:
- Giving a name to the portfolios:
- Selecting the columns he wanted to show;
- Confirming my information, including:
- Phone number to call when texting two factor authentication codes,
- Electing to receive statements via email, and confirming the email address,
- Edit name of Trusted Contact.
While at TD Ameritrade, Steve had linked his wife’s accounts to his own, so when he logged in he would see the “family” portfolios. This did not carry over for him, and he will need to establish this again.
If in the past you routinely logged into TD’s Advisorclient to view your accounts, we suggest you go to the "Account Access" tab found under the menu options on your client center app and click on the Charles Schwab button to either establish a login (you should have one of the Schwab account numbers found on the recent letters sent to you) or if you have a log in already peruse the information and become accustomed to the new look and feel.
